GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS
Volume 1:1961–1969
The first volume in the new series of books from Creepy Images is all about the cinema posters from the early days of the giallo, covering the years 1961 to 1969 and thus important titles that laid the foundations for the genre, first and foremost of course Mario Bava's SEI DONNE PER L'ASSASSINO (BLOOD AND BLACK LACE), but also the first gialli by directors such as Lucio Fulci, Umberto Lenzi and Antonio Margheriti.
More than 240 posters for more than 50 gialli from the beginnings of the genre, completely bilingual content (German / English) and, of course completely in colour.
Almost all of the posters featured in this book were photographed or scanned and professionally retouched ourselves. Creepy Images have spared no expense or effort: in addition to posters from their own archive and loans from collector friends, they have purchased many posters in order to reproduce them in the best possible quality. Only a few posters have already been made available to them in digital form.
A total of four volumes will be published in the GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS series, covering a period of over 60 years.
Creepy Images have done it! Despite all reason, they decided to tackle a project they had rejected years ago because it was too expensive and too much work. Creepy Images are devoting themselves to the subject of giallo film posters ... but not just any old way: they present over 300 films of the genre from over 60 years on more than 800 pages with over 1,200 movie posters from all over the world. This is not only the most extensive project in CREEPY*IMAGES' 15-year history, but also the most detailed and comprehensive treatment of the subject ever undertaken. As a single book of this size would have presented unmanageable financial, logistical and labour problems, Creepy Images have decided to make it into four volumes.
